The
cut.
How we cut. Raw footage, bold words, hard cuts, real sound. Built for people who train at 6 a.m. and scroll at 11 p.m. Every clip should make someone want to move.
01 · Ten rules non-negotiable
The hardest frame first. Impact, breath, a face. No logo, no fade, no music intro.
Bebas Neue, uppercase, fills the frame. Words land on cuts, never float. Max three words on screen.
The punch lands, the frame changes. Black frames between beats, 2 to 4 frames, are allowed. Dissolves are not.
Glove on pad, breath, rope, the coach. Music under it, never over it. Silence before the biggest hit.
Handheld is fine, grain is fine, sweat is fine. No LUT that looks like a perfume ad. Black, white, one red.
Six cuts in three seconds, then one shot for four. Contrast is the rhythm. Constant speed is noise.
No hashtags in the frame, no "motivation". Short sentences a fighter would actually say. Present tense.
Every clip has at least one close-up where someone looks into the lens. People follow people.
Hype 15 to 20. Story 25 to 30. If it needs 45, it is two clips.
White wipe, mark, one line. Two seconds. The only place the logo lives.

04 · Word bank copy in our voice
Short, present tense, said by someone who trains. One red word per line, the one that carries the weight.
05 · First application Miami Fight Camp · 25:40 source
Three cuts from one fight-camp vlog. Timecodes from the scene analysis. Each one follows the ten rules above; the word slams come from the word bank.
| Cut | Timecodes (source) | Words on screen |
|---|---|---|
| NOBODY IS COMING Hype · 18 s | 6:50–7:27 night shadowboxing in the garage (hook: first exhale, phone timer) → 7:27–8:03 pad cracks, coach "Again! Press!" → 12:33–13:19 sled push → 13:19–14:12 leg press, strain face → 23:32–25:00 sparring, headgear, kicks → 25:00 walking to camera, sweaty | NOBODY. / IS COMING. / GOOD. Black frame after each. Sign-off. |
| THE CAMP Story · 28 s | 2:22–2:37 hand wrap, pink tape (hook, close) → 2:48–3:10 tumbling → 3:10–3:22 grappling, faces → 3:22 sitting against the cage, water → 4:37–4:51 ground and pound, sweat flying → 5:31 walking out at sunset (hold 4 s) → 20:31 exhausted to camera: "never doing a shoot during camp again" | DAY 1. / DAY 9. / DAY 14. as counters. Last frame: THE BELL DOESN'T CARE HOW YOU SLEPT. |
| EAT. TRAIN. REST. Rhythm · 20 s | 0:21 pancakes close-up → 2:48 mat roll → 6:09 chicken tray → 4:37 dummy punches → 10:12 tomahawk steak → 13:19 bench press → 11:48 cycling boulevard → 15:57 massage, kayak, grill → 6:33 beard trim at night. Cut on the beat, 0.5 s each, one hold on the steak. | EAT. / TRAIN. / REST. / REPEAT. One word per block, three blocks, then sign-off. |
Sound: garage exhales and pad cracks carry the first cut, no music until the sled. The story cut keeps gym ambience under a low synth. The rhythm cut is music-led, cuts on the kick.
06 · First cuts auto-cut, Bebas captions, not yet the house style
Six machine cuts from the same source, ranked by hook strength. They prove the material, not the style: no word slams, no black frames, no sign-off yet. Recut the top three by the rules above.
Matchmaking chaos in 37 seconds: opponent gone, Oliveira in, then a new name.
Insider truth with stakes: a broken hand means no fight, no money.
A sparring partner calls him the best lightweight in the world.
Kitchen conflict, punchline: too much salt.
Coach rants about car brands. Profanity, check before posting.
Fight talk pivots into a nutrition rant. Context risk high.
